Our Story
Hearo Kids was created from a very personal place. My daughter was born profoundly deaf and was implanted with cochlear implants at 12 months old. Like any parent, I wanted her to have the freedom to play, explore, and enjoy the world — without compromise.
I struggled to find caps that could comfortably accommodate her ‘magic ears’ while still offering style and protection against the elements and let her keep hearing the world! The options out there were limited, uninspiring, and didn’t match her bright, bold personality at all.
That’s when the idea for Hearo Kids came to life and I started designing hats specifically for 'cochlear kids'. Stylish, playful, and comfortable, so no child has to choose between being protected from the sun (or snow) and being able to hear the world around them. I wanted to bring a little extra magic to every adventure, so I also began working with illustrator Rosalind Monks, to create original designs for our fabrics.
I believe every child deserves to feel proud of who they are and confident in what they wear. Thank you for supporting this little mission — from one Hearo family to another.
